The beautiful coastal resort of Kala Nera is located on the coast of the Pagasitic Gulf in the Pelion peninsula. Pelion is located on the eastern side of mainland Greece and is easily accessible from all over Greece.
The city of Volos, located at the foot of mount Pelion, has connections by train, sea and road, as well as the nearby airport of Anhialos offering air travel during the summer season.
Pelion is located approximately halfway between the two main cities of Athens and Thessaloniki. It is part of the county of Magnesia, which belongs to the prefecture of Thessaly. The city of Volos is the capital of Magnesia, and the gateway to the magical Pelion peninsula.
Volos is a very interesting and charming destination in it's own right, and is a very important city in Greece. With many interesting museums, sights and places of interest, there is much to see and do in Volos.
The resort of Kala Nera is located just 18km from Volos, and is on the main coastal road from the city. For those travelling by car, you will pass through Volos, and head south along the main road following the signs to Milies, Argalasti and Milina.
Kala Nera is located between the neighbouring coastal towns of Kato Gatzea and Afissos. There are road signs pointing the way to Kala Nera.
In the area of Anhialos, there is an airport that operates during the summer season, catering for charters flights from Europe. The main international airports of Greece aρε located in Athens, Thessaloniki and Skiathos. From these airports, you can either drive or take the national bus to Volos.
